| My name is Gunn May Honningsvåg, and I was born in 1959. I live
in Rubbestadneset on Bømlo together with the man of my life, Sigve,
and my 12-year-old daughter, Solveig. In addition I’ve got two grown up
children, my daughter Christine, and my son Roy Helge. At the moment
I’ve got one grandchild, three-year-old Nicholas, who I have a lot of fun
with. I hope that in time I will get many more grandchildren.
I grew up with dogs. We had some different breeds, but generally it was useful dogs. Accept from a little pudel named Sally. Those who made the most impression on me was my dad’s hunting dogs, English Setters My dad was an eager grouse hunter. When the hunting season was over, the Setters was perfect family dogs. Dogs have always been a big intrest to me. But I’ve never had the opportunity to do this hobby before now. My sister, Berit H. Presthus is breeding Griffons, and it was through her I discovered this amazing breed. After watching several dog shows and puppies, I knew that the time was right for me. At Christmas time in 2006, I practically fell for one of my sister’s puppies. I just had to have her, and little Sissi came home with me on February, 2007. I was ready and really excited. When Sissi was four months old, I took her to a dog show in Førde. And she did great! Though it was both her and my first time, she won two prizes. “best of breed - puppies” and 4.place “best puppy” in the group finals. Both me and my sister were in heaven. It wasn’t much later I found out that I was in the need of more Griffons. I was warned about this. If you first get one Griffon, the road to more is very short. When Berit needed a feedhost to a little Belge bitch, I was sure! In October 07, I went to Bergen to pick up my little Cindy. I’ve really found the breed and the hobby of my life. I can’t understand why I didn’t came up with this idea and started with the hobby before. I haven’t reach the stage where I have had any puppies yet, but I really look forward to it, with pleasure. |
